Start with yourself
Choosing a sector is one of the first big decisions in a skills-based career. Before comparing industries, ask yourself a few honest questions:
- Do I enjoy working with people, machines and tools, computers or creative ideas?
- Am I comfortable with shift work, long hours on my feet or physical tasks?
- Do I prefer a steady routine or a variety of work?
- How soon do I need to start earning?
Your answers matter more than which sector is popular among your friends.
